THE FASHION WEEK ROUND UP
What a week it was!
Yep, I am fully aware that this round up is a little bit late, but as they say, better late than never!
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to jet over to beautiful Sydney for MBFWA - a week that ended up being a week full of fashion shows, meetings, friend making, adventures and excitement. In true Ashleigh style, I jam packed my days with everything I could which ended up causing a little (actually, a lot) of anxiety, but hey - when in Rome?! While I jumped between meetings, showroom visits and a crazy amount of runway shows, I got a full taste of what Australian fashion week is like - from the fun, the stress, the excitement and the laughs - it was definitely a week that I am so excited to do again next year!
The Fashion
The main reason we all haul over to Sydney for the week is of course, to see designers showcase their new collections on the runway. My favourites for the week? Hands down Toni Maticevski (what a show to open with!), Bec + Bridge, Cynthia Rowley, Misha Collection (hello Bella Hadid!) and the Next Generation show which introduced us to some of Australia's up and coming designers - there are some good ones.!
The People
I think the best part of fashion week for me was the people I got to meet - whether that was my favourite email buddies from PR agencies, some new faces in some exciting meetings I went to, or the fellow bloggers I've grown to love over the years. The most important part of the industry in my opinion is those we get to to be a part of it with and create content for, so I really enjoyed meeting and hanging out with everyone I bumped into along the way! I have made some great new friends and there's some exciting work coming up this year, so I couldn't have been happier with this aspect of my trip! A special shout out to Char (the fashion division), Natalie (fromluxewithlove), Ally (Substance), Ashley (Miss Gunner) and Izzy (Fawn Journal) for being the best little sidekicks throughout the week!
The Digs
I was lucky enough to spend a portion of the week in the ADGE Apartment Hotel in the gorgeous Surry Hills. It wasn't long before all my clothes, accessories, shoes and belongings were strewn across the 2 bedroom apartment but hey - all in the name of fashion, right?! The hotel was amazing and in the best location - if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Surry Hills the next time you're in Sydney, I couldn't recommend ADGE more! The babes over at Mazda also loaned me a CX3 to zoom around Sydney all week in which was an absolute blessing to run between all the meetings / appointments / showroom visit and of course, shows I somehow managed to schedule into every day.
The Outfits
While putting outfits together for fashion week is 100% more stressful than it sounds, it is also a lot of fun! I was lucky enough to be loaned or gifted some outfits across the week, a snippet of which is featured below. Fashion week is a nice way to bend the rules surrounding your style a little bit more, so it was nice to step outside of my comfort zone just a little bit with some of the outfit choices I made!

Here's a little photo round up of the week that was - from friendships made, to adventures had, shows seen and outfits gathered, it was a fantastic week (albeit an extremely stressful one!) and something I was so grateful to be a part of. I actually didn't end up taking that much imagery myself while I was in Sydney - go figure, worst blogger EVER - but below is a little photo journal of some of the mischief I got up to. There was a lot more craziness and a lot more outfits, but I think this does the week a little bit of justice. Enjoy!
