MY DAILY MAKEUP
More and more people have been asking about my hair and makeup in addition to my outfits recently, so I thought I would start branching into other things than just personal style around here.
So first up, something simple and easy - my favourite daily makeup products! My day job isn't all too fashion related or glamourous, so my daily makeup routine is pretty basic. Enough to get me through the day without looking too over the top but enough to make me look presentable! I also tend to gravitate towards the affordable, drug store make up products for my every day make up looks, because that's much better on my wallet. ;)
Foundation and Concealer
I am so fussy when it comes to foundation. Firstly, I found it really difficult to find a colour / coverage match that works best for me, and secondly, I think my skin becomes accustomed to foundation after a while and I lose the effects I once loved. Anyone else? After trying make up from pretty much every brand on the planet, the L'Oreal True Match and Maybelline Fit Me 'Dewy and Smooth' Foundation would have to be my current favourites. Both have a great medium to heavy coverage that can be built up, and the colours seem to match back with skin tones wonderfully! To apply the foundations, I dot it all over my face with my finger (there's probably a much nicer description than that, oops!) then I buff the foundation into my skin with a Sigma Flat Kabuki Brush.
With concealer, I used two different products for separate purposes. The Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer matches my foundation perfectly and is great to cover those annoying pimples that appear and also any redness. I used the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in a shade that is slightly lighter than my foundation colour under my eyes to brighten the area. I also use this concealer on my cupids bow and bridge of my nose.

Powder
I'm currently using the Maybelline Fit Me Powder, because in my head I think it makes sense to use the matching products. It probably doesn't actually matter though! This powder is great - takes away the 'shiny' element of the foundation coverage and also feels really light on my skin. Sometimes with powder I find it makes my face look cakey, but not this bad boy. The Sigma 530 Powder Brush is so soft and provides some of the best powder coverage I have found, particularly for a product with a less ridiculous price point.

Eyebrows
I'm so obsessed with eyebrows. I spend probably way too much time on mine, but they frame the face so I think it is very important! I'm currently using the Alison Jade Eyebrow palette on my brows and I love it! There's a shade that matches any hair colour, which is coming in use as I make my hair lighter and lighter and also works extremely well for shading.

Contouring, Highlighting and Blush
Contouring is an art form and the day I master it is the day I am probably the happiest girl in the world. In the meantime, the Maybelline Fit Me Contouring and Highlighting Kit is a godsend (also, thank god for YouTube beauty bloggers!). As are the Sigma brushes I used for contouring and highlighting - they are the perfect brush size and create the perfect angles necessary for contouring. This kit is in the Light/Medium colour and is perfect for defining cheek bones without it being too dramatic. The highlighter is also great, although I do love my MAC Soft and Gentle Highlighter that little bit more. This one is juuuust about finished, so I'll be heading back for another, unless anyone else has an amazing highlighter to recommend me?

I've been using the Nars Blush in the colour 'Orgasm' for years now, and I won't be changing anytime soon! Obsessed.

Eyeshadow
Recently I've been experimenting with eyeshadow looks, mainly for the nighttime. It's something I've been avoiding for a while now because I wasn't too confident, but it is true, the more you practice, the better you get at it. During the day I opt for a subtle pink shimmer, and at nighttime I have been loving the gold colour tones and some more smokey looks with browns. This eyeshadow kit has basically every colour you need if you're starting out with eyeshadow like I am - score!

Eyeliner and Mascara
Mascara is one of my favourite beauty products because with application, it just lifts the face! I change mascara quite frequently, but my two current favourites are the Rimmel Scandaleyes Extreme and MaxFactor Masterpiece Transform. The latter is probably one of the best mascaras I have ever
