SKY HIGH PARADISE AT OASIA SINGAPORE

You know those moments when you go on holiday and the hotel is just so good, you don't want to leave it?

That was my experience at the Oasia Hotel in Downtown Singapore, and if it wasn't for the fact that I love visiting Singapore, I probably wouldn't have stepped foot outside the hotel's doors (wait till you hear why and I'm sure you wouldn't want to either!)

As far as first impressions go, the Oasia Downtown is nothing like I've seen before - nestled in the heart of the Singapore 'CBD', the Oasia stands out amongst the grey buildings not only by height, but by its red metal exterior covered in leafy greens. You actually can't miss it, and you can be sure to find it if you ever get lost on the streets of Singapore, that's for sure!  While I'm sure these images will do a lot of the talking for me, here's 8 reasons why you need to visit Singapore and stay at the Oasia Downtown. You might even see me there, I've decided I'm going to move in!

The Club Level Experience

When choosing your room at the Oasia Downtown, you can choose between a Superior, Deluxe or Club Room, the latter opening up the Club Level for your enjoyment which includes the coolest hotel pool I have ever seen, a delicious daily breakfast in the Club Lounge (can recommend everything, I tried it all!) and on demand Australian (!!!) coffee - something which definitely hit a sweet spot with me! The biggest draw card of them all though - access to the Club Level space which is one of the most beautiful hotel spaces ever! I'll let the imagery speak for itself, but lets just say the pastel interiors, high ceilings, infinity pool and beach-style cabanas had me hook, line and sinker.

THE AMAZING INFINITY POOL

I'm a total sucker for an infinity pool and the two pools at the Oasia definitely ticked all of my infinity pool boxes. First up, the pool on Level 27 giving sky high views of Singapore all while making you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. The view over Singapore is incredible and highlights the contrast of the historical residential skyline vs the sky scrapers of the business district. Second, the Club Level pool, slotted within an open air space (or how I like to describe it as 'the big gaping multi-level hole in the middle of the building' - haha). Yes, it's just as cool as it sounds! I've never seen a space like it, and even now that I am home I am still mesmerised by the space. I love a good high ceiling and I love it even better when it's about 10 levels. Take me back!

THE WELLNESS EXPERIENCE

I'm definitely the person who needs a holiday from a holiday by the time I return back to reality. I have an insane habit of trying to squeeze in all the tourist action I possibly can into my time and more often than not, am worn out by the end of my trip. My stay at Oasia Downtown taught me that it is important to allocate time for wellness activities throughout your stay, to embrace the pillars of Refresh, Refuel, and Recharge - a phrase the hotel group stands for, and importantly so. Oasia's morning yoga class in the most picturesque of locations on the hotel's 12th floor definitely made me realise that wellness is important - it's not every day you get to do a yoga class sky high in Singapore, is it?! An experience in itself that I won't be forgetting in a long time.

The luxury in-room experience

Dear Oasia Downtown, if my bed wasn't so big and comfortable, I probably would have gone to sleep in my giant in-room bathtub! Yes, yes and all the yes. The moment I walked into my room and saw not only my giant bathroom, but my giant bathtub, I felt like I had stepped into the ultimate in luxury spaces. That, combined with the in-room copper detailing, a view of Singapore from my window that stretched for miles, and enough room within the room-space for all the activities, I was sold.

The Little Added Extras

To me, it's always the little added features at a hotel that take a stay from memorable to unforgettable (and something you definitely want to write home about!). My favourite in room feature (besides the bathtub, of course!) was the portable Wifi device that I could take around Singapore with me. What a nice added feature to make my stay in Singapore that little bit better, especially so I could Snap and 'Gram on the go! #bloggerlife. And of course, in true Ashleigh style, not get lost.  Other things like the smart TV (yes, I had many solo Spotify parties by myself), in room coffee machine and complimentary juice in the mini bar was such a nice little touch and made my stay more memorable than it already was shaping up to be.

The Location

When I'm travelling I always find it's so important to find a hotel that is in a central location; perfect for getting around and with enough to do close to your hotel for those days you feel like staying local. The Oasia offers the perfect Singapore location for someone wanting to enjoy different parts of Singapore a stone's throw away - close to train lines, in the hustle and bustle for a true taste of culture, and close to some killer restaurants in China town only a hop skip and a jump away. When you're next in Singapore, be sure to check out Afterglow for some of the most delicious organic and healthy food I've had (the most incredible deconstructed Sushi bowl!) and of course, the Singapore Night Markets for delicious, authentic Singaporean food. YUM.

The number of reasons to never leave the hotel!

I know I said there's lots of exploring to do in Singapore (it really is one of my favourite cities in the world!), but between the hotel pools, Club Room experience and the restaurants and bars within the hotel, I definitely considered basing myself there for the entirety of my stay! My favourite? The Cin Cin Cocktail Lounge that had the most perfect turquoise velvet chairs I've ever laid my eyes on, and delicious gin-based cocktails to match from one of the most gin-knowledgable bar managers I have ever had a chat to. As I said, it's the little extras that count. I definitely treated myself to a couple then made my way back to my room ;) Be sure to also check out the Marmalade Pantry on the Ground Floor for some more western inspired cuisine and a pastel interior you will fall in love with - SWOON!

Relaxation Mode: ON

I found myself on a number of occasions zoning out on one of the many pool chairs, day beds and gazebos around the Club Level  - oops! If you're looking for accommodation that is a sweet escape away from the hustle and bustle of the City, I've found your place. It's actually amazing how relaxing you can find a hotel in the middle of the Singapore CBD. And as I said (and definitely learnt on this trip) - it's so important to take some time to relax while on vacation.

Finally, I'll leave you with this: if you are yet to visit Singapore, I would recommend you hot foot your way there immediately! And if you are headed to Singapore soon, you should definitely pay a visit to Oasia Downtown, whether it is to stay, to drop in, or to eat and drink. I promise you I am sitting over here hoping they open more of these amazing locations right across the world.
