Continuing on from my Summer Staples post last month, I've identified another two of my favourite, summer staple items. They probably don't come as any surprise but I had to mention them as I feel this outfit will be on heavy rotation for me this summer!

The denim short is of course, a crowd favourite, and everyone probably has about 99 pairs in their wardrobe - which is totally fair (and I completely sympathise)! In true summer staple fashion, I think it important to have a few options in denim shorts: dark wash, light wash, black, high waisted and a little more sophisticated.

Off the shoulder styles continue their dominance this season, and while many of the pieces you can find have more of a boho vibe to them, I'm all about the structured off shoulder options. This off shoulder top is perfect to take from those more "dressy" outfits, to a laid back weekend look paired back with some denim shorts.

The black handbag is another wardrobe staple and not just for summer - it goes with everything and is another great, sophisticated match for a pair of denim shorts. I've had this PS11 for about 3 years now and it is still one of my absolute favourites, but over the last weekend I treated myself to a new baby because I know how much quality black bags are to any wardrobe. I am counting down the days (and stalking my postman) until it's arrival. YAY!
